LLL meetings are like a chat amongst friends. Sometimes meetings are warmly supportive and quietly encouraging as we help a mum who’s having a difficult time establishing breastfeeding, sometimes they are lively and animated as we discuss ways of handling comments about our parenting choices. Sometimes we just enjoy the company of like minded mums.
The accredited leaders are there to ensure that questions are answered accurately, using the most up-to-date research and information from La Leche League’s vast bank of resources. They
lead a discussion (hence the term ‘leader’) on a subject related to breastfeeding whilst ensuring that any burning issues mums bring with them are addressed
either in the group meeting or privately.
There is always time to look at the library of books and have a drink and a snack.
Children are welcome, therefore during school
holidays meetings are sometimes noisier. Please bring your baby or toddler we love to see them and we will give you support and encouragement whatever stage
of breastfeeding you are at.
